MoTHER to reunite with Buckcherry July 6th!

So...it's been a couple of years but we are beyond pumped to be returning to the stage with our boys in Buckcherry! These LA fellas have had quite the storied 18 year career, sprinkled with radio smashers. "Lit Up", "Crazy Bitch", and "Sorry" are some of the standouts amongst many others. They put on quite the live show and we are excited to have our first support slot of 2017 be with Buckcherry.

White Eagle Hall, built in 1910 at 335-337 Newark Avenue, is a staple of historic Jersey City (my hometown!) It previously served as a multipurpose concert hall before ownership was transferred to St. Anthony's Church. For many years during this time it was home to the St. Anthony's Friars basketball program. Coach Bob Hurley and his boys practiced in this venue building the national basketball dynasty they are now known for, winning 23 national championships in his career as head coach. In 2013 it was slated for a massive renovation and restoration, keeping many of the original fixtures and flooring. The ribbon was officially cut on May 5, 2017 to reopen this gorgeous building as a music venue.

Words cannot describe how happy we are to be a part of the inaugural year of this venue. We are teaming up with ExcessdB entertainment and Buckcherry to make this happen in our hometown! We write rehearse and record only a few neighborhoods away in the Greenville section of Jersey City. Click HERE for ticketing and more info.

- MoTHER

Let's bring some happiness back into Monday...

We are excited to announce a residency of sorts at our favorite hometown venue, Arlene's Grocery. We will be playing one Monday a month for the rest of the year. A few things to note about these shows...

  • They are free!
  • The drinks are cheap!
  • They will be followed by the Arlene's World Famous Rock n Roll Karaoke band...giving you the chance to sing one of hundreds of songs with a live band!
  • Each show will be opened by a different local artist
  • We will be trying out new tunes at each show
  • And they are free!

Arlene's has a lot of history to it. Transformed into a live music venue from a bodega in 1995, Arlene's Grocery has been a staple of the NYC rock n roll scene ever since. It is also the background for one of my favorite all time concert bootlegs, as Jeff Buckley played there in 1997, showcasing some songs from what would have been his second LP. Sadly he passed later that year, but those recordings powerfully live on.

Come on out and have some fun with us. Every show will offer something different and we hope to see you guys at all of them!

Cheese steaks, rabid sports fans, hip hop, soul, and rock n roll...this town holds a lot of history among these great states. It also holds a place in the heart of this band. Our guitar slayer, Mike Gowen, is originally a product of West Chester, PA and spent much of his childhood in the Philly area. Our first ever show as MoTHER was played at the Grape Room in Manayunk, and now it seems everything has come full circle being signed to David Ivory's Flexitone Records.

David is a legendary Philadelphia-based producer and a part of many gold and platinum certified records...one of these being The Roots' Things Fall Apart. This album is considered by many as the groups breakthrough, and was the first to earn them gold and platinum certifications. On the rock n' roll side of things, Atlantic recording artist Halestorm, is another product of the Ivory Productions universe. The female led Pennsylvania quartet got an early start developing their hard driving and raw sound at Dave's studio.

That being said...we are very excited to be heading down the NJ Turnpike from New York City to Whiskey Tango in northern Philadelphia. We will be sharing the stage with our road brethren in On Top (https://ontop.bandcamp.com/) and more ass kicking locals. The info is in the flyer below. Be sure to check out our latest single on Flexitone Records, MEDICINE, and sing your asses off with us.
